He Fixed Cinema 4D's UI with this one weird trick (Doctors hate him!)

Ok Let’s face it, the new Cinema 4D UI Sucks .. But only for us old timers who are used to the old versions of Cinema.

I managed to restore the UI to its former glory (to an extent) and also managed to fill the gaps in the missing icons, so i want to share with you how i came to do this so you too can cope with the identity crisis C4D is having today!

Before :(

After :)

Step 1: Download this Icons File by clicking here

Step 2: Make a copy of the current interface_icons_2x.tif somewhere, and then replace that with the downloaded file here C:\Program Files\Maxon Cinema 4D R26\resource\modules\c4dplugin\icons

Step 3:Profit!

That should be it, as far as colours, unfortunately this is something you have to tweak manually as i’m not sure if this something i can transfer across, you are welcome to take inspiration from my screenshot!

I should also mention that old icons might be wrong or misplaced (or totally missing in some cases like new features, e.g z-remesher) but you can tweak that .tiff file to fill in the gaps (by comparing the old file and new file and saving a new version with tweaks), which is something i’m doing.

Enjoy!

Where is all my old content?

So, a long time ago (2014) i shared a lot of tips and tricks about V-Ray and Cinema 4D on this blog section of my website, followed later by some tutorials on vimeo and youtube.

More recently however i've had to retire most of that because the tools and workflows have developed a LOT over the years, my workflow has changed as a consequence as well, especially since i started working with GPU & interactive rendering,PBR, and procedural tools like Houdini and Substance.

I would like to revive this part of my website again soon to share some of what i'm working and also some of the stuff i learn a long the way from time to time! (Have been working on some cool stuff that i can't wait to share with you)

In the meantime, if you are looking for some of my old content (like the V-Ray tutorial videos), i have made a youtube playlist that contains some of my old videos.
